Our Services

Acne affects more than 80% of the world’s population.  Traditional treatment consists of over-the-counter cleansers and topical medications such as peroxide compounds and antibiotics.  However, there are FDA approved laser and light treatments that are extremely effective with little to no side effects and can be used in place or in conjunction with traditional medication treatments.  At Limelight Laser and Medical Spa, we treat both active acne and acne scarring.

Active Acne
There are two effective treatments for active acne, Palomar Lux V intense pulsed light and blue light therapy. Both treatments are highly effective for mild to severe acne and have the added benefit of improving the appearance of your skin.

Acne Scarring
Acne scarring can develop as a result of even the mildest acne although it typically occurs from deeper cystic acne. It can range from slightly noticeable to disfiguring. At Limelight Laser and Medical Spa, we have several treatments that can be used individually or in combination to treat all types of acne scarring or scarring on other areas of your body or face.

Palomar Lux V

The FDA approved Starlux LuxV hand-piece emits pulses of intense light that treat the root cause of acne, the sebaceous gland. The LuxV alters the structure and function of the sebaceous glands to reduce acne lesions and decrease porphyrins. Lux V also targets acne-causing bacteria and inhibits future acne breakouts. Patients enjoy benefits of long-lasting clear skin after just a few treatments.

Blue Light Therapy

Blue light therapy uses a UV-free LED bulb that emits a therapeutic wavelength to target and kill acne-causing bacteria. Once the light penetrates the skin, the prevention of new acne occurs. Blue light therapy is a safe treatment that is intended for people with mild to moderate acne. Those who are treated with blue LED light should expect to see noticeable results in about three to four weeks.

Cynosure Icon 1540 Fractional Laser

The 1540 fractional laser treatment is the first line treatment to correct any acne or other scarring with little to no downtime.  You can expect to need 2-3 treatments to see the most dramatic results.

Microneedling

Microneedling is a non-invasive procedure during which several sterile micro needles are pressed into the skin.  This results in collagen creation, helping to smooth out scars, fine lines, and wrinkles.

EndyMed Fractional Skin Resurfacing (FSR)

3DEEP® Fractional Skin Resurfacing provides a smoother, brighter skin surface and reduces hyperpigmentation. Simultaneously, volumetric deep dermal heating reaches the collagen fibers causing an immediate and long-term tightening effect with a perceived reduction in the depth of atrophic acne scars. 3DEEP Fractional Skin Resurfacing effectively treats all skin layers for an optimal result.

The FSR handpiece contains a matrix of 112 tiny electrodes, allowing for the first time simultaneous fractional micro-ablation of the epidermis, together with volumetric heating of 100% of the dermis. This technology provides the capability to differentiate between micro-ablation and dermal heating to obtain the optimal multi-layer treatment for aging skin and atrophic acne scars.
